Hello directors, designers, artists and unknowns:
Happy Software Freedom Day! A time celebrate in a job profession so heavily connected with software and technology. Our lives are more interconnected because of software liberties all around us; from smart phones like Android that run the Linux kernel and web servers running social media websites on the backbone of the Net running Ubuntu, CentOS, Gentoo, FreeBSD and other free software operating systems. Each of our lives is affected by the contributions of developers worldwide irrespective of geographic and political borders; we are bound by who we know, our interests and knowledge.
Using free software is but one way to achieve software freedom. The other being to work without a computer; and thus I’m starting, “The Post-Software Movement”, an art movement in a return towards traditional techniques in combination with modern software knowledge.
