Restore Our Privacy Act of 2013
This bill makes amendments to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (50 U.S.C. 1861) that was amended in 2008, and which is mentioned in the artwork Operation Privacy Invasion. There has been critique of these laws stating that sit in a grey area in terms of the Fourth Amendment. Data that sits on a server that is technically owned by another company is used to nullify privacy protections protected by law. It seems that log files from the phone company shouldn’t be kept, and this could be part of privacy services for communication, that may or may not already exist. OTR messaging seems like a good solution for restoring our privacy.
